OPI Red Lights Ahead...Where? Swatch

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I've decided to do a series of swatches of the colors that I own from OPI's Holland Collection. First up, is Red Lights Ahead...Where? At first I was really opposed to buying this color (even though I really loved it) because I have lots of reds in my collection. I also have CoverGirl's Candy Apple which I think is really similar in color. Lucky for me I received the OPI Holland Collection Dutch Treats Mini Pack, which came with Red Lights Ahead...Where?, as a gift. Problem solved :).

These pictures show just how かわいい/cute and small the minis are. I am 5ft 0 with very small hands which I hope gives you some idea of just how small these things are. Well on to the review...
I absolutely loved everything about this polish. At times I look at it and say red orange and other times I think there's a hint of coral in it. Its has creme finish and OMG does it go on evenly. Also the shine from this polish is amazing even before the top coat goes on. I feel like red is such a typical color for nail polish and because of that I generally try and stay away from it but this, to me, is a great color. Let me know if you're loving the Holland Collection. I will be swatching Kiss Me on My Tulips next, until then peace and love ^_^!

Nail Tips: How to Keep Cuticles Moisturized

When thinking about nail care, the importance of the cuticle is often neglected. However, the amount of attention given to caring for your cuticles can mean the difference between healthy, strong, beautiful nails and constantly peeling, hangnail prone, easily cracked nails that do not seem to grow. So my tip for today is to keep those hands and cuticles moisturized. This is actually not as annoying a task as it may seem and can easily be incorporated into your everyday life. For example, after washing your hands, which can be really drying to the cuticles and hands, try rubbing on your favorite lotion or hand cream. Be sure to give your cuticles some attention by taking the time to massage each finger as well. Plus you don't have to stand around and take your time to do this. You can keep your cuticles moisturized on the go.

I would also recommend having a salve like Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme or the True Blue Spa Cuticle Treatment from Bath and Body Works handy. Bath and Body Works also sells an all purpose Rose Salve which is amazing. Keep that in your purse and your lips, ashy elbows, cuticles, whatever are covered for the day, I kid you not :).  By applying a cuticle treatment or lotion to the hands and cuticles after washing, moisture is locked in. I know from my own experience that this works. Since incorporating these practices my nails are much stronger, and I have much less trouble growing my nails.

Are there any techniques you all use to keep your cuticles moisturized?
If anything, try this out and let me know if you're getting results! Until next post, hasta luego! ^_^

First Post! NOTD: 2012 The Summer of...Orange?

So after much agonizing I finally picked the topic of my first post! Yaaaaaayyyy!!! Well If you've looked at fashion magazines lately we're seeing lots of color. This is also being reflected in the recent summer collections from Essie, OPI, and Zoya, among others. But what I've noticed in particular is a lot of orange. And I mean lots of it. If someone asked me about my favorite color right now, at this very second, orange would not be the first color to come to mind (it would probably be blue lol). Anyways, if you want to follow this trend there are lots of new polishes to choose from. I love OPI's A Role in The Hauge from their Holland Collection. But if you don't want to run out and buy a new bottle of polish to be "in trend" this season, look within your own stash! So with that I've swatched an old polish as the first post to my new blog :). OPI's Brights Power, which is part of their Summer 2008 Mod About Brights Collection is a great go to polish. However I have to add. Don't let your color agenda be set by what magazines and popular media tell you you should be wearing. If you want to wear black on your nails all summer long go ahead and do it! Set your own color agenda!

OPI's Brights Power is a great orange creme polish. Its a perfect match for those who want a bright orange that isn't neon. Here I did 3 coats for the swatch but this polish is definitely a two coater and goes on evenly.  What colors have you all noticed are trending this summer? What are your favorite ones? Comment and let me know!

Until next post, またね(read: mata ne)!or later ^_^
(expect to see random languages that I speak on here lol)
